Murial Carruthers and her daughter Jeanette travelled all the way from Warrington in Cheshire to visit Leith Hall on 22nd August. They flew to Aberdeen especially to visit the home of her ancestor, Norman Leith Hay. Murial discovered the connection shortly before Leith Hall was closed by NTS and thought she would never be able to visit the " family home ". Thanks to Friends of Leith Hall and the volunteers she has now been able to see how, and where, her ancestors lived, view portraits of them and step back in time.

" It was a very emotional and overwhelming experience for us. Leith Hall must be kept open for others to visit, It is a unique family home "

The Tea Room was very busy. Friends of Leith Hall Chairwoman Eileen Law is serving coffee.

Picnic on the lawn

The car park was full with overspill parking on the drive and towards the garages.
